Our History
Visveswarapura Evening College of Arts and Commerce is a premier institution of higher education which was established in the year 1966. Rajya Vokkaligara Sangha, a philanthropic organization of Karnataka founded this institution which is strategically located in the city of Bangalore.
Visveswarapura Evening College of Arts and Commerce has been serving as a socio-academic bridge for tens of thousands of poor students belonging to backward classes, SC and ST and minorities. They work during the day time and get their education in their evening time. All most all the students support themselves and their families and this brings in them a sense of responsibility. This mindset and job experiences are shared by them leading to formation of a rare group of socio-political orientation. We reach the unreached. This college has gifted many IAS/IPS officers, artists, academicians, lawyers, judges, sportsmen, politicians and leaders to the society.
The college has two of the most important programmes namely B.A. and B.Com. The College has been affiliated to Bengaluru City University. It is reaccredited with ‘B’ Grade by NAAC and is recognized under Section 12 (B) and 2 (f) by UGC.
The college has full time qualified staff with more than twenty years of experience and many have obtained Ph.D degrees and guiding the Ph.D scholars in various universities. The management is committed to education and the running of this college paved the way for expansion and diversification of its academic arena.
